Acne And Diet There Are Other Issues As Well

by Allison Thompson

Although some people believe that acne is caused by them eating the wrong kinds of foods this is not the only reason for a person developing it. In fact as you will see below acne and diet issues are really very low down on the list for what is actually causing the condition in the first place. As well as looking at the causes we look at how it can be treated.

Today what actually causes a person to suffer from acne is unknown. But many doctors believe there are a number of different factors, which contribute to a person suffering from this skin condition. Below we take a look at just what some of the factors are.

1. Overactive Oil (Sebaceous) Glands - These are located deep within a person’s skin and when hormonal changes are taking place in the body these can often become enlarged. Plus as these hormonal changes take place in a person’s body this results in the glands producing more oil than they would normally and which often results in young people, especially teenagers suffering from acne.

2. The Skins Pores Have Become Blocked - Again this relates to the sebaceous glands in a person’s body producing excessive amounts of oil. Acne often occurs because the oil (sebum) which the glands are producing is not able to flow freely to the skins surface and this ends up becoming trapped. Once the oil becomes trapped over time then white or blackheads begin to form on the skins surface.

3. Normal Skin Bacterium Activity - Our bodies produce a bacterium called Propionibacterium Acnes that lives on our skin and which helps to protect us from bacterial infections. However there are occasions when this bacterium can actually help to exacerbate a skin condition like acne rather than preventing it. Simply what happens is that this bacterium is unable to cope with the amount of oil a person’s serbaceous glands are producing and which results in the pores of the skin becoming inflamed and irritated.

4. Skin Inflammation - As you will have seen from above all the factors we have previously listed will result in a person’s skin becoming inflamed which is often a major sign of acne developing. Yet there is another reason for why a person’s skin has become inflamed. It is their immune system is trying to fight whatever it is that is irritating the skin in the first place.

Above we have taken a look at what are the main contributory factors for a person suffering from acne. Yes if a person has the correct diet then they will find that the chances of them suffering from acne or other skin problems are greatly reduced. However if you do find yourself suffering from this skin problem there are plenty of treatments one can use.

There are products such as Zenmed Derma Cleanse System, Proactiv Solution and Murad which are very effective at helping to treat the condition over an long period of time. But if you want to try something a little more different and which will help to clear up your acne much more quickly it may be worth your while considering using the “Acne Free In 3 Days” program instead.

Although an unhealthy diet can certainly contribute towards a person being prone to developing acne this is not the only factor which should be taken into consideration. Certainly acne and dietary habits which are bad will exacerbate the condition further. Yet making changes to your diet should be high on your list for treating the acne along with using some kind of treatment mentioned previously.
