Having a slim stomach is always a top priority for most people who are trying to lose weight. However it is difficult to burn the fats covering the stomach muscles and get in shape with a tonned complexion. Apparently everytime we stuff ourselves with food, the fats gets stored in our cells and guess what?, the stomach is the first place they go to. Visually they form the “love handles” which are basically the layers of fats which line your stomach area. They make us look unattrative and sometimes dissapointing. Besides the not so good looking attire, stomach fats are considered to be hazardes to health. Hypertension and heart diseases are expected to be few among those hazards.
Genetics has the deciding factor on where the fats need to get stored. The biomechanics of our body says fats are stored in places where you would not require too much energy to carry them around. Fat storage is actually a survival strategy of our bodies, so storing fats in the abs makes sense because we do not bend and move our stomach area so much at any given day so the energy stored in these fats will be saved for future use.
Now the big question is does crunches and other forms of abs exercises help to remove abdominal fat? Well not really! coz any exercise for that matter are known to shape and tone your muscles and not necessarily to remove the fat that surrounds those muscles.
To remove the body fats, one must burn them, possibly through cardiovascular exercises or doing several strength-training routines. First, you have to consume less calories and fatty foods so as to minimize the fat storage in your system. The number of calories you take in each day must be proportional, or very close, to the amount of calories you can actually expend. It is a known fact that when you lose body fat, through exercise, training, and dieting, the fats stored in the stomach area will be the last to go. Lifting weights and strength training actually helps in more efficient fat burning in that even after several hours or even days after the training session, when you are already at rest, the fat-burning mechanism of your body does not stop. It makes metabolism of fats a lot faster.
Thus by working the whole-body or by being specific on the stomach, one can reduce stomach fat. Cosmetic surgery such as liposuction are highly not advisable coz it not only removes fats but also the fat cells. Fat cell removal from your stomach by liposuction and unhealthy everyday dieting will cause improper fat storage in your body. It gives a disproportionate body and it is highly advisable to reduce the fat on your abs by appropriate exercising.
