How To Cure Insomnia Without Sleeping Pills Or Therapy

If you have been unable to fall asleep or stay asleep for a period of time, it’s likely that you have insomnia problem. A lot of people have problem sleeping at night occasionally, and when it becomes habitual, their life will no longer function the same and feel tired during the day. No one can function properly without sufficient sleep, not to mention performing at the peak state. So if you have insomnia issue and it doesn’t go away, your life is literally over with grief.

Even after having regular sleeps over the years, you can develop insomnia out of blue at any time and at any age. A study shows that one in three people are suffering from insomnia. Not only is this the inability to fall asleep, but it also involves not being able to stay asleep or continually waking up earlier than planned.

Most people rely on sleeping pills to help them cure insomnia. Sleeping pills only work on a short term basis and it would work well if you suffer serious issues like loss of a closed relatives, or getting a divorce. Sleeping pills are very addictive and hence they are only good for short term usage, not long term. Don’t even think about that little pill can cure your insomnia once and for all.

If you want to get some peaceful sleep at night, you should by all means avoid taking caffeine, tea, coffee, coke, chocolate and sugar like cheesecake etc. Don’t forget to check if you are taking any diet or sinus pills that are very likely keep you awake at night.

Never ever take alcohol with sleeping pills. It’s lethal to take sleeping pill and alcohol together and the false belief that it can help you relax is wrong. Mixing alcohol and sleeping pills are extremely dangerous.

Besides, do not eat too much and allow at least 2 hours of digestion before your bed time. If you have insomnia problem, avoid liquid consumption at least 30 minutes before your bed time.

Do not take long nap during the day if you have problem sleeping at night. Long nap will mess up your sleep clock such that your body will become confuse of your bed time and hence, promote insomnia.

Do not watch TV or work on your computer on your bed if you have problem sleeping. These activities will only delay your sleep and keep your brainwaves up.

Start working out or do some exercise but just not to do it at least an hour before your bed time as it will interrupt your sleep pattern.
