Instant Acne Relief ? 5 Top Home Remedies

by Marcel Stephenson

Using harsh chemicals is not always the answer to curing acne. If you have a milder case of acne, try these natural home remedies instead. They really work, without damaging your skin any further.

Some of the treatments might seem a bit too simple, but they really do work. If you follow the directions, you will be able to see your acne disappear. Here are five of the natural remedies that really work:

1. Hot/Cold Compresses

The most widely recommended relief is a hot and cold wet towel compress this will help to reduce swelling and open clogged pores-which is a big contributing factor in the production of acne.

2. Natural Juices and Oils

It may sound strange, but almond oil will help to remove acne scars and apricot juice will reduce the effect of cysts by cutting through them.

Cucumber juice - Used as a topical application, either alone or with carrot juice or lettuce.

Citric fruit juices, such as lemon juice, serve as a natural defoliant. After applying the juice, let it dry for 10 minutes before rinsing it off with cool water. This will remove dead skin cells, which clogs up your skin pores.

3. Honey Mask

Honey has natural anti-bacterial qualities it is often applied to the face as a mask, killing bacteria on the surface. Typically, it should be applied once or twice a week depending upon the results of usage.

4. Distilled White Vinegar

You can use vinegar as a topical solution, applying it to an infected area. Let it sit for at least 5-10 minutes, and then rinse it off with cool water. The vinegar can be slightly diluted if it is too strong. But be careful, if you dilute it too much it can weaken the effect.

5. Make-up or Cosmetic Usage

Simply avoid using these products because more than likely the chemicals and oils used to manufacture them will clog the pores, which, in turn, leads to more breakouts.

But, if you don’t control your diet, no external treatment will have a full affect. Make sure you have a healthy diet, filled of unprocessed, whole foods.
