While many are still relying on prescribed medication for treatment of ADD/ADHD, more and more are looking out for alternative method of healing this disorder. As awareness of the dangers of ADD/ADHD prescribed medication rises among the public, many research has been devoted to finding the best possible method of curing ADD/ADHD without the usage of drugs.
ADD/ADHD disorder is not a simple problem to understand and even to this day, the exact cause of ADD/ADHD is still unknown. This has lead many to believe the disorder could be caused by agents in the environment thus identifying these agents and removing them might just be the answer. Failure of the brain to interpret messages could well be contributed to many factors which in turn produce signs of hyperactivity, distractibility, and impulsivity of those suffering this disorder.
But, is it really that simple?
There’s no arguing that once ADD/ADHD has taken hold, conquering the disorder is difficult. Yet all signs point to the fact that it can be overcome! Real people have spent years doing what doctors and research scientists have failed to do, until recently; that is, to devote time, energy, and financial recourses to investigating non-prescription treatments for ADD/ADHD.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) determines what is safe for consumers and it makes its decision based on considering the benefits of the product on a large number of people than the harm it does. The public should then educate themselves on what is best for them personally and only by making this intelligent decision can save themselves.
Chemical additives, sweeteners, or preservatives are not meant to be ingested by humans.
What nature does not have is not needed by the human body and nothing is as alien as processed sugar, food additives, chemical preservatives, natural light deficiency, and heavy metal toxicity (lead, mercury, and cadmium). Human body certainly can do without these chemicals and furthermore, they are suspected to be linked to the existence of attention deficit disorder/ADHD.
So, if the studies back up the statement, what is the answer?
Here are points to ponder.
It stands to reason that, if ADD/ADHD is even partially caused by an imbalance between what nature intended and how people really live, the best course of action would be to consider natural alternatives to medication when treating the disorder.
The body has suffered from chemical additives, nutritional deficiencies, and toxicity that has caused it problems therefore, eliminating them should be a great relief to the body or even curing it eventually.
People with ADD/ADHD are lacking certain nutrients such as calcium, B vitamins, tryptophan, tyrosine, and magnesium; and their bodies contain too much of toxic substances such as lead, cadmium, mercury, processed sugar, food additives, and artificial chemicals. Understanding that the causes of ADD/ADHD are more than likely manmade makes the answer obvious.
It is only right then to treat high chemical contents in the body by eliminating them rather than inputting more that could evidently cause more harm than good.
