Sex Abuse Recovery

by Roger Rowe

Sexual abuse has been widespread in this country for decades if not longer. Those of us who continue to suffer from the after effects of this horrible experience have had so few choices in learning how to recover. However, today is a new day.

In the oncoming future, we will pioneer new steps and exercises the world of mainstream therapy has chosen to ignore. While the methods were created long ago, they have never been put to use in widespread fashion. Hopefully, we will change that starting today.

By us are the times when paying a counselor $150.00 per hour to observe the expulsion of our feelings. That is because:

1) All though having someone to talk to about the way you feel is importantand necessary, there is no action, only observation. Most therapists only observe because that is all they can do. THEY HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED WHAT YOU EXPERIENCE ON A DAILY BASIS. Does this make sense to anyone other than me?

2) Analysis is useful for many things including the development of procedure and measurement. The caveat however, is that it is used sometimes as the complete process when it only is a part of getting better. Logic tells me this is simple, but the rest of the community seems to stagnant on the issue. Through actions change is brought! Analysis is not action.

3) Who can afford the fees? With the rising cost of gasoline and food in this country, we are being squeezed from every possible direction. Why hasn’t someone come up with a new idea in the world of psychotherapy in the last fifty years? Well, someone has, you just haven’t heard about it yet.

Are there many people who have been abused sexually in our society? How many can you identify? Are the signs apparent and can you point people to the help they need? Signs of abuse are not difficult to identify. Any parent or friend who is really paying attention will notice.

Could you propose the right help to a person whom needed it? Do you have the courage to help when you identify a person who is in need?
