Colic is a common phase in the life of a baby during the first few weeks until the 3rd or fourth month. Doctors believe that the parents are more aware of the responsibility of raising a child when they cry excessively. There is no wonder drug that can help address colic infants - moms and dads will just have to face it until the child is able to adapt to the new surroundings and use some natural remedies along the way.
The simplest method for parents to use is to play music, which is the same principle behind lullabies, and playing recorded music is just as efficient as singing. Placing this in the crib wherever the baby is helps it to rest comfortably. A natural remedy for intestinal colic is to adjust the mother’s diet program to reduce wind production, since this is transferred to the child in breast milk. If the mother is no longer relying on powdered milk or milk concentrates, or is no longer nursing, instead of the normal kind perhaps it would help the intestinal colic baby to use soy milk.
It is wrong to think the baby will need only breast milk because water is also required and this needs to be inspected first. It is almost an automatic response to carry a crying infant, and indeed this kind of gentle rocking movement can often console a baby suffering from intestinal colic. If the mother is having a tough time carrying the infant, another way to do this will be to go out of the house. It’s safe to put the infant in a stroller or strap it to the car seat so both mother and child can spend bonding time in the parkland.
Children in early infancy suffer from tension as well, and massages, tepid baths or calming fragrances can offer soothing relief. Another way is to place a warm towel or bag on the baby’s belly, but it is important that you test it first to make sure it is not too warm.
Individuals can’t blame infants for being colic when it is caused by their new environment. Parents can try swaddling or holding the baby close to the chest, in order for the baby to be slowly adjust. There are different natural remedies that work but because it may not always work, parents would want to try different things when signs do not improve.
There are, of course medicines available that can treat intestinal colic babies and moms and dads should consult with the pediatrician first which one will do the trick before administering it to the infant. It is nothing for moms and dads to worry about if the diagnosis is colic because this is common in babies. Both the mother and father need to be ready for some challenging days ahead since there will be a great deal of sleepless nights making them feel very washed-out.
