When you walk through your local drugstore, you will see that there are many products for you to choose from. Take a look at some of the products and you will see that the products can be used to fight acne from occurring and others that will help to deal with any current acne. The problem occurs when the gland that is responsible for producing oil will overproduce oils and clog the pores. The clogged pore will result in a pimple. There is generally an overproduction of propionibacterium in people who have acne.

There are products that are available that will keep the pores clear and free from the oils that can clog them. The major ingredient in products that perform this function is Benzoyl Peroxide. This is one of the most common ingredients in acne products. The big name acne products will contain this ingredient.

There are some other acne products that contain Salicylic Acid as well as Alpha Hydroxy. These ingredients work by removing the top layer of skin. There are even some sunscreen products that contain these ingredients.

There are some natural oils that are also considered acne products. These include Tee Tree Oil; this will help kill the bacteria that cause the acne to form. Additional oils that can be used and are helpful are Bergamon Oil, Lavendr Oil and Rosewood Oil. Use all oils by following directions. Most are diluted with water and then sprayed onto the affected area.

Prescription acne products need to be discussed with a doctor. Sometimes, oral medications are prescribed to help fight the bacteria problem. Other anti-biotic acne products may also be prescribed in a gel for to be placed directly on the acne. These medications can only be prescribed by a doctor. If home treatments do not seem to be making an improvement, a visit to your health care provider may be recommended.
