One of the conditions which invariably characterizes Acne is inflamed skin pores, these can show up as whiteheads , blackheads , pimples or cysts. Irrespective of age Acne can affect anyone it is , however , more common amongst teenagers.
The medical term used to describe common Acne is “Acne Vulgaris”. If bacteria is present in the pores of the skin this will undoubtedly cause the condition. What normally follows is that the body becomes allergic to the acne causing bacteria.Pus is formed in the affected pores as a result of the attraction of white blood cells.
The next step is that the pores become clogged even more and this results in the oil which is produced by the oil glands building up.When this occurs the pores which are already clogged and inflamed can become a breeding ground for more bacteria. This is invariably followed by small reddish lumps which can look like boils.
Despite all the technological and scientific advancements Acne still remains with no perfect cure. In essence , once you are unfortunate enough to develop the condition , generally speaking , you just have to be patient until you virtually outgrow it. In the interim what you should be doing is making every effort to make sure the physical effects are minimized.
It’s important to point out that in the past, people believed that poor hygiene and eating certain foods are the cause of acne. You’ve most likely heard others blame chocolate and fried food for their acne.
The truth is , however , that linking diet to acne has no scientific basis at all. Some believed if you opened the pores by severe scrubbing of the face and making sure the skin was kept that way it would somehow reduce the effects of Acne.
It goes without saying that good personal hygiene is important but you must always remember that Acne prone skin which is subject to overwashing can result in making the condition worse. That does not mean you can neglect these things as they are certainly important and in fact may help when it is coupled with a good healthy diet.
With regard to cosmetics it will help if you use hypoallergenic or noncomedogenic products as these will not make the condition worse as they will not clog the pores.
